Build Purpose

Our 2017 Toyota Fortuner isn’t just a vehicle, it’s the foundation of our family adventures. I’m building it into a capable, reliable overlanding rig designed for camping, exploring, and getting off the beaten track with family and friends. It’s not about extreme rock crawling or showing off — it’s about self-sufficiency, comfort, and the freedom to go where we want, when we want. The goal is simple: • Load up the kids • Hitch the trailer • Head into the mountains, bush, or coast • Stay off-grid with confidence This build is about creating memories — early morning coffee in the wild, sunsets around the fire, and teaching my kids to love the outdoors. It’s being set up for: • Long-distance road trips • Proper overlanding capability • Camping comfort without sacrificing reliability • Safe and practical family travel The Fortuner is becoming our adventure platform — built tough enough for Africa, practical enough for everyday life, and capable enough to take us wherever the map ends.
