Die Mond Campsite

About this campsite

Die Mond sits on a wide bend of the Grootrivier in the Tankwa Karoo - river gums overhead, no cell signal, no electricity, no noise except the water and whatever's moving through the bush at night. It's the kind of place you stop checking your phone before you've even finished setting up. Sites are spacious enough for tents, trailers, and caravans, and each one comes with its own braai drum. Ablutions are solar-lit, showers run on a donkey boiler, and ice and firewood are available at reception. Bring your own drinking water. During the day the river keeps you busy - swim, paddle, walk the surrounding trails, or just sit and watch the birds work the reeds. The Tankwa's semi-arid landscape is genuinely unique, and Die Mond puts you right in the middle of it. Come evening, the sky out here is something else. No light pollution, no distractions - just the Milky Way and the sound of the river doing its thing. Bring: Drinking water Note: No electricity. No cell reception.
