Ironman4x4 270 Awning
Anyone with a Ironman4x4 270 awning - is it a ‘permanent’ fixture or does it have quick release for the Frontrunner roof rack?

Hey Gareth,
I have Ironman's new Deltawing 270 degree awning on my Land Cruiser 76. I don't have it on quick release as the Front Runner quick release brackets interfere with my Orion 1400 rooftop tent which is currently a permanent fixture. It is possible to run both, however then your tent has to sit slightly off to the one side to allow space for the tall quick release awning brackets. I'm a man of symmetry so I've hard mounted the awning instead to keep the lines clean. Front Runner never used to offer a quick release bracket for the heavier 270 degree awnings, however they do now and it when I unboxed the mounts, they looked robust and well-designed. FYI, they are an L-shape of sorts so while they mount to the side of the Front Runner roof racks, they do stick out above your rack when the awning is off. Hope that helps.
Thanks Craig. Appreciate the detailed response.
Hear you about symmetry and worried about the tent not sitting in the middle. Have the frontrunner tent on quick release which sits a bit higher up, so this might help.
You answered my questions / concerns though.
Awesome Gareth, that Deltawing is a proper piece of kit. Simple and sturdy design but those hidden LED strips that are built into each of the arms is an absolute game changer for nights in camp.
Part of the reason I want to replace my frontrunner awning. It looks epic and the integrated lights are a must have!
Plus anything that helps with speed of setup is a winner
Mate, have another question… did you notice a big weight difference?
It’s double the weight of my current setup and worried about the impact while driving and also the additional weight on my Prado roof (rack + rtt and awning)
Hey Gareth,
To be honest, I didn't notice any difference not did I hear any change in drag-related wind noise. As long as you have it mounted with three fixed brackets or Front Runner's heavy duty 270 degree quick release brackets then you'll be golden! Remember to check all the bolts after it's first proper off-road outing.
